Sable Marco® Cold Asphalt

Cold asphalt for patching potholes and asphalt surfaces

Sable Marco® Cold Asphalt is a pre-blended, ready-to-use cold asphalt. It is specifically designed for repairing asphalt surfaces, including potholes and utility cuts, and can be applied directly from the bag into the damaged area without heating. Once placed, it can be compacted to restore a smooth, durable surface.

Usage

Sable Marco® Cold Asphalt is ideal for repairing asphalt surfaces with thicknesses ranging from 2.5 cm (1 in) to 10 cm (4 in), covering areas up to 0.4 m2 (4 ft2). It can be used to repair potholes, wide cracks, or sunken areas. Sable Marco® Cold Asphalt is suitable for asphalt driveways, walkways, and parking areas. It is not recommended for use on curbs, speed bumps and ramps, or for new driveways extensions.

Shelf life

Storage conditions

Store in a dry, covered area protected from the elements. Compaction from storage does not change the workability.

Application steps

SURFACE PREPARATION

Remove all damaged asphalt to a depth of 5 cm (2 in) to 10 cm (4 in) and square up the edges. Clear the area of loose debris, dust, mud, grass, or any unsound base material. For deeper holes, fill with gravel to the appropriate depth.

APPLICATION

Pour Sable Marco® Cold Asphalt into the prepared area, slightly overfilling approximately 1.3 cm (½ in) above surrounding asphalt. Compact thoroughly using a hand tamper or plate compactor. For deep repairs, place and compact in layers not exceeding 5 cm (2 in) thick. The final repair should not exceed 10 cm (4 in) in depth.

CURING TREATMENT

The repaired area is generally usable after 3–7 days. Hardening may take longer in warm weather.

Allow 60–90 days curing time before applying a driveway sealer. Follow the sealer manufacturer’s instructions.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean tools immediately after use with mineral spirits.
